Congratulations to the Portland Timbers on their victory over the Columbus Crew yesterday. In it’s 40th year as a franchise, the team was able to take the title and bring the MLS cup to Portland, Oregon for the first, but hopefully not the last time.
As a long-time client, we have helped the Timbers with their printing needs at providence park, and most recently we printed and installed the graphics which were placed on the semi-truck used by the team to carry the log to Columbus for the MLS cup final.
Before the game kicked off we wanted to show everyone that we not only supported the Portland Timbers, but that we could also print giant banners that you can see from the highway. Why not kill two birds with one stone? We decided to take advantage of our large format printing capabilities and our proximity to the highway and got to work on the project right away.
First thing was first – coming up with exactly where we wanted to print and place the banner and finding the measurements for the appropriate space. 191” x 52” is the area in front of our windows on the exterior of our office, piece of cake to print and hang something that big. Next, we had to design something simple that would be visible from far away, so nothing too wordy. “Let’s go Timbers” – was simple enough, and of course we wanted to throw in a #RCTID in there as well for good measure. As we were putting it up, we already started to receive compliments from the passing public! A nice exterior sign is a great way to let people know what you’re about – in this case we wanted people to know that we support the Portland Timbers!
We want to congratulate the Timbers on a successful season, and we’re happy that we’re able to do print-work with them on a regular basis.
